The Pro Infrastructure Association has confirmed that not a single kilometer of the 28.35-kilometer stretch of the A7 motorway from Mizil to Buzău West will be completed in 2024, contrary to previous promises by officials. Although the contractual deadline passed in October, the significant delays in construction have made opening by the planned date impossible. Among the most severe delays are the construction of important overpasses, such as those along 102H Mizil-Căldărușanca and 103R Istrița-Găgeni-Amaru county roads, where the necessary metal structures have not even arrived at the construction site. Furthermore, the metal bridge in the Mizil junction is also seriously delayed, with work on the bridge over the Sărata brook on the A7 having been completed in one direction only.

Paving and overpasses for many parts of the motorway, the installation of barriers, markings, and other finishing works remain incomplete. "Coni, particularly Trace, where most of the backlog is, show no sign that the project could be completed in 2024, especially not before the elections," warn officials from the Pro Infrastructure Association. In an extreme case, the only solution might be to close public access on the 102H and 103R county roads, which would lead to the isolation of certain localities and a difficult situation at the Mizil junction, especially considering the DN 1D road traffic, which would overlap with the unfinished works on DJ 100C. The association warns that this traffic conflict could cause congestion and significant risks to traffic safety, exacerbating the inconveniences for locals and road users. Even if the two builders were to speed up their efforts planned for the last quarter, there is little hope, according to the Pro Infrastructure Association's statement, that the A7 motorway will expand by even a single new high-speed kilometer in 2024, contrary to initial plans.
